and oh, what one finds when the veil is lifted.

I tried to prop it up on an empty pack of ciggarettes.

on top of an unused journal

wedged a black marker behind it

to keep you upright

you texted me a photograph of yourself at 3:55AM

Left side of your face in a green pillow.

Can see only one half of the smirk cut in your mouth.

Only one eyebrow, like an accent mark assisting in the translation of your eyes

I opened the text.

Then closed it.

Then opened it.

When I put myself to bed

Fit myself into the one corner that doesnt smell like my ex.

I built a raft from the debris of my nightstand

To hold you facing me as i slept.

I am dwindling
Perecentage points in our math
Still somehow not hard

One day I will show
You how much I hate math by
Kissing you outside

He Likes To Eat

My father is a good man.

He has tumors

On his stomach

And the backs of his knees

His chin is a tumor.

His throat is a roadway

For guns and knives on wheels

Greased and greased and greased.

My father tips like he’s a mobster.

He lives in a studio apartment

Sleeps with a woman who lives 700 miles away

Twice a year.

The only woman he’s ever loved

Lives 30 miles away

(that’s my mom)

My father is a good man.

He likes to eat.

He likes to eat.

He likes to eat.

When he gets big enough to burst.

Ill be able to say he went out on his own terms:

Vengeful and in parts.

I imagine when he eats alone

He does so while screaming.

Weeping over pie.

Meaning and being

nomakeup:

did not lie somewhere behind things; they lay within them, within everything.

How deaf I have been, how unfeeling! he thought, walking ever more swiftly.  When a person reads something and wishes to grasp its meaning, he does not scorn the characters and letters and call them illusory, random, and worthless husks; he reads them, studies them, and loves them, letter for letter.

-Siddhartha, Hermann Hesse

one of the best books evar. one of the best authors evar. kt, you should read this if you havent. endless awesomeness.
